you probably wore jeans most of the time and pretended I was more then I seamed as you adjusted the length of your legs and laughed at my expression's suggestion about picking up leaves in autumn one by one knowing there were millions and you would be bending for hours right in front of my refusal to assist when there was a rake there in my hands and I could be your latest hero while you sipped your cocoa and smiled and waited for my eyes to return again but then I guess it hit you suddenly and you put the rake in your shed and asked me just to watch you longer and think those things you knew I did then teach them all to you a little later ___________ daark |
