Sergeant Jones
is a super large
African American
police officer
that does volunteer work
at the settlement house
in our poor Caucasian
neighborhood.

Bones and his friends
are up on the stage
putting on a comedy skit.

One of the actors asks Bones
what would happen to a tree
if a bear came along
and tore all its bark off.

Bones answer was—

“Why, it’d be ruint.”

Sergeant Jones swings
into a fit of violent laughter,
rolls around on the floor,
pounding the floor
with his fists.

I’ve never seen a man
laugh like that,
and God bless him for it.

It was a beautiful sight,
and I'll never forget the guy.

Bobby

Paul,

Thanks for pointing out the spelling mistake.  I've changed it, and will change the original.

Thanks dear Linda,

I'm happy if it made you laugh.  This happened in 1958, and the sergent is most likely gone, or at least in his ninties.  I haven't heard from him since 1958.

Love Bobby
