Ice Storm Under ominous, tattered, disconsolate clouds flash-frozen to the stark mountain tops, ever-mercurial Autumn has moved on, without even a backwards glance… Ancient, multifarious oaks huddle together, rasping their dissuasive discontent (through these cold, implacable woods) to Winter’s relentless advance. --- b. e. adams (11/26/08) |

Reading this makes me shiver. It is cold and raining here today too but not this kind of cold. There's a very realistic feel to this one. Ida |

your talent for describing this is amazing...I remember those ice storms...nothing like them (or so I thought until I read your fascinating words) |

Yo Secondhanddreampoet, I remember the great ice storm of 47 in Altoona. No electric or school for two weeks. It was awful, I would loved to have missed it. Bobby |
