ALTRUISIM
14 July 1986

She,
straining for his touch,
but
glad he had escaped,
used, unspiderlike,
all of her little mind
to keep her eight legs
from trapping
him.
He,
unaware
of her strength,
believed himself
to be
undesirable.

Beliefs do create our perceptions of reality. Wonderful association and expression Owl.

Thank you for your kind words, Hal.  Yes, beliefs do create our perceptions or reality - but perceptions are just that.

You are so right, Diana. It is what it is OR what we percieve it to be.

I think you speak in wonderfully poetic words of a classic misinterpretation.

Hugs, dear Poetess.

Thanks, Ida.  The trick is to know which of the two "it" really is!

Thanks, Margherita.  Getting past misunderstandings are a pivotable part of a successful relationship.

Hi owl, I wish women not be spider drawing webs to capture men, If I had eight legs I would run away....But the comparison is sensitive and make a tremendous poem...

Thanks for the read, Yann and the comments about the poem.  I am not spiderlike and do not trap men.  This was the first and last man who every accused me of being spiderlike.  It was just an ugly way he used to describe his attraction for me in an exceptionally good (but cruel) poem in which he called me Arachne.  He wrote it near the end of our 18 month relationship and this was one of my replies which I wrote after I ended it.  I didn't give him any of the replies, which illustrates just how much I did NOT try to trap him.  Smiles.

Hi Owl, thank you for the comment, you complete informations and enlighten my understanding about the situation and context of it all...I made a two swift and easyly written comment and I know that you will forgive me about that...I really think this man didn't know too much about love to make a so light comparison...

regards

Of course I forgive you, Yann - but, in actual fact, there's nothing to forgive.  Smiles.  It takes a real man to recognise that he has made a mistake, and a very real man to admit it, a very, very real man to ask forgiveness, and a very, very, very real man to know when it is going to be given anyway!  The man in the poem actually knew a lot about love, but at times he was inclined to be jealous for no reason and sometimes see things only the way he wanted to see them.  Thanks for the apology.  Smiles.

Thank you Susan.  Yes, it can cost a lot of happiness.
