The Long Journey and Snow

I clenched the phone near my bosom
As I laid in my bed last night

I realized you were a scared boy
And I could never be the one
Who weeped for the dead, rotted corpse
That laid in the bed beside her

I woke up
And then realized
Why I had been so scared
And Packed my bags
I left town

Yo dear Juju,

You’ve been reading William Faulkner’s “A Rose for Emily”, haven’t you?

It is a memorable story, one of my favorites.

I concur with what Bobby said, more or less. Nicely phrased poem. Hope all is well.

William Faulkner. It is a very intriguing
Southern Gothic tale.

This poem was bomb-diggity.

Some people fall in love and touch the sky, some people fall in love and find quicksand.
