Tell me what we’ve left behind
That betters what was here before?
Tell me what will others find
That we’ve not touched to harvest more?

Has man improved what God did make?
Or has he spoilt it with his greed?
Although it seems we eat the cake
Tomorrow we may be in need

Our children and the ones of they
What story might they tell of we?
The ones who took their chance away
The ones who would not let things be

In just few years the earth has changed
In climate and its health to heal
The thinking of our powers strange
With devil seem to make the deal

To take with greed and not return
To leave land barren just to die
To watch oil tankers spill and burn
Does really make one question why?

I do not know what lies ahead
I do not know what years will bring
Just really wonder with some dread
Why man near ruins everything

I kiss my loved ones now goodnight
With tear in eye, I do not know
Just hope with hope we do what’s right
Before the end of days does show

Dear Rick, your thoughtful, beautiful expressions really touch mind and heart. We can't stress this concern and emergency enough, so that humanity may awaken to love and respect for each other and Mother Earth.

Thank you so much for sharing this!

Love,
Margherita

Dear Roniece, thank you so much for your reply my friend, the pen has been running wild and finding words, nice to get some thoughts down and share them. Great to have you replying Roniece, enjoyed.

Dear Margherita, I am so happy I can touch your mind and heart my friend, I am afraid man is leaving the run too late, it may not be us, but future generations will suffer for the efforts of only a couple of hundred years, it is sad. We have now my friend, we must indeed make the most of it.

To you both my friends, thanks for the visit once again, it is raining here and that is a good thing for the land, be well and take care.

A most meaningful write, Rick.  Man is ruining most everything but perhaps it's all part of the plan.  I choose to think that good will come out of it for fear that my focus on the bad will entrench it.  I believe that thoughts are things somewhere, sometime.  Enjoyed!

This is a very sensitive poem and I hope some people recognise from your poem what the human race has done to our earth.  your poem was enlightening and much enjoyed.

Dear Kat, to sit in too much thought of it all might not be such a good thing, I do so hope that some might just change one thing in there day to make the difference. Thank you for your post my friend, much appreciated.

Dear Helen, it must be such a flawed plan, one that marks devistation on the calender and wealth on the agenda, I think most of us can feel and see the result, I hope that greater plans come into play. Thank you so much for your reply, always great to have you visit my friend.

Dear Kimberly, hugs to you as well my friend, we must take them when we can and forget some things for a moment. I do hope that people can see the writing on the wall and the pages and that sense will come from some of it. Glad you enjoyed, thank you for your reply, I enjoyed.

To you all my friends, again thank you for the visit, it fills my heart with warmth and day with thought.

Rick

This has been on my mind too.  There is so much finger pointing about the ruination of our planet - and yet, it seems as if no one wants to change.  Profits are the main factor in the decisions made.  How sad is this?

Thank you.
