Free from the sorrows that come through the age
Or am I too old to fill this page

With the beauty that lays within my heart
I'm only asking you for a new start.
I'm older now, I won't hurt you like I did back then
Could you trust me now, could we be more than just friends.

If I asked you for a thread of your time
Would you find it in your heart to only be mine
Could you be free from the pressures of all your old friends
Reminding you of the agony of our divorce back then

Could you forgive me and marry me again?
I never stopped loving you we both needed to mend
Our child needed someone to heal her heart
I told her lie's about you which I had to defend

I know it's hard to find it in your heart to forgive
I remember when I took our child you didnt want to live.
I'm asking, I'm begging for a thread of your time
It is you that I want now to grow old with and live

RDB, and kat; Just wanted you to know this poem was written from my husbands perspective I wrote it but it was a poem from him to me about his feelings not mine. I can not go back only forward and not with him .... I am glad you enjoyed it I am sorry If I made you sad.
