Driving towards home
I saw autumn
had gently abandoned
a stack of leaves,
yellow red and brown
piled up by the wind.
It was reckoning
without sunday walks
and a mother
softly watching her kid
fooling around,
defeating autumn
and its stern manias.

My children gave me my own childhood back!
We would rake the leaves up in a big pile and then dive in! lol

A lovely autumnal write that brought some pleasant fall memories back ~ of my daughters' childhoods ~ and my own!

Thank you!

I believe that is one battle where both win.  The autumn with it's enticement captures the kid's attention and time and the kid with the 3 count on the pindown.  Enjoyable read and the images in my mind were a treat as well.

Yo Yann,

It's great fun to wait until the neighbor is done raking the leaves, and then dive in, and run like hell.

Mmmmm, Yann, I enjoyed this immensely.  In Durban, South Africa, we hardly notice a change in seasons.  That has lots of wonderful advantages like lots and lots of sunshine and blue skies, but I enjoy the disctinct change in seasons as you and others describe them in richly descriptive poetry.  Thank you.

Thank you Bobby for the realistic point of view about neighbours, we all do that.

Dear Owl thank you for the delicate comment...With the global warming I'm afraid they could be only two seasons in Brittany (automn and spring( never cold, never hot)) it is a bit monotonous...I would so much like to live in a sunny country (have they depressions too?) just joking.

have a nice day
