Lord sweet lord how should I feel,
Must I play each hand you deal,
This pain I have is so unreal,
Can you give me the medicine to help me heal?
My heart is empty because he's gone,
Somedays I just cannot go on,
At times I feel so all alone,
Just wish he was here where he belong.
Not second guessing you not at all,
He was my world although he's small,
It's hard to stand proud and tall,
When at times I want to fall.
It seems to me he had no chance,
I guess you may have other plans,
Please help me lord to understand,
Why'd you take him from my hands?
I think of him each passing minute,
My life feels empty without him in it.
I know there's no love greater than thou,
I just need to feel better, Can you show me how?
Can you take this pain and make it joy,
Each time I think of my baby boy.
And no one but you understand how I feel,
Oh lord sweet lord please help me heal.

Welcome to Passions! Please, do check your
email for a very special greeting...

And, our Alison is correct. Your poetry would get far more visibility by others if you posted in Open or any of the other forums meant for poetry. As this particular forum is for prose, you might want to expand your horizons...

Welcome aboard!

I truly am sorry to read of the loss of your baby boy. I could feel both your love and your pain throughout this emotional read.

Know this, that time truly does have the power to heal. My sister lost her baby daughter, then was hit by a car and lost twins at 8 months gestation, then lost her teenage son. The pain of loss is still with her but it does gradually lessen with the passing of time. I have gone through these losses with her and that kind of pain is undescribeable ~ but you have done an admirable job of conveying it. God bless you all.

Love & Everlasting Light,
Linda
