I crush the Earth beneath my Concrete feet The finite wheels of machinery. Paths paved of good intentions Tall edifices built with glass, Faceless reflective light See foolhardy mankind’s destructive path, As we crush the Earth beneath our Concrete feet. ~Lia |

How true is this. Several years ago, when she just had just turned 90 or so, my mother-in-law [who would have been 100 yesterday] said, "if they keep removing grass just to put pavement down, where do they think the water's going to grow?" Think about it. I miss my mother-in-law's witticism's. She left us just this last January, and not a day goes by that I don't miss her voice, and highly common sense. So what I'm telling you, Poet, is that I could relate quite well to this poem of yours. Thank you! |

Yo HeliaHeart, I've been told I have concrete feet. I try not to, but there are those of us that just don't know. I like your poem. Bobby |
