I hung it from a willow tree in the weeping green of spring, for when you walked along your path of brighter, better things, you'd see the tarinshed bauble, the snow globe of my life and know winter's come again, my world is growing dark. April rained away the apple blossoms, May few off on robin wings and you passed on by the willow with your summer eyes blinded by the sun. Autumn's dressed in jewel tones in your world of crowns and kings. My barefoot path is brown leaves, my trees are empty nests. I hung my heart among the yellow leaves upon the oak, a red bird on the hightest branch, singing for your ear. Your golden eye was blinded by the filaments of last light and your ear too small a shell to hear the hymn in ocean's roar or the final prayer in my autumn song. Winter is the archer, the arrow's on the wing - I close my eyes with yours. |

"I hung my heart among the yellow leaves upon the oak, a red bird on the highest branch, singing for your ear." A melancholy but beautiful song. Enjoyed the read, hyacinth blue. |
