Billiard Bliss Between swirling chords lofted in cigarette smoke Songs of laughter filling in notes of random pause Glances embraced with each lyric meant to evoke As sways of interest dance in rendering applause Corner fields of felt offer the battleground for cues Where solids and stripes chalk up chances of gain Singles become partners between pocketed views Banking shots against barriers on friendships reign Glimpses of tease squint through tequilla and lime Taunting the visions between desires and dreams Eyes of penetration reaching deep within this time Through smiles of elegance in the purest of means Attraction sealed within the maze of passion dance Concentration lost in all values of game set in play Time reclining against the arms of destined chance Knowing this kiss will have to wait for another day Mark Christopher - |

Well done. Being the queen of stripes... I certainly appreciated the green felt corners, and glimpse into a smile I had almost forgotten... those left handed banks always create a little chaos of their own accord! |

As the old adage goes: "Anticipation is half the fun!" You did a masterful job of creating an atmosphere! Linda |

Ah..here it is. And I shall restrain myself from the obvious punchline regarding balls and racks so I can thank you properly for allowing me to remember a place in time that was once a safe haven to me. (I still love the sound of the release, though. *chuckle* Does a game still cost fifty cents?) I haven't been played a game in a lonnnnng time. |

As a player, I'm a really, really good... cheerleader. *G* But Alison is right... your words engage all the senses... and there's no place I'd rather be. *S* |

The way you use meter is so unique! I'd swear you're using a Greek scansion, but I can't place it, and the cadence flows so naturally that I've a feeling it comes from inside the poet rather than an outside pattern. So I'll just call it Classical Mark, and spend some time trying to understand why it's so effective. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

Karen - The release is always a treat in the game, but 50 cents? Not around here, but I have learned that as long as I win the table then the challenger has to drop the $1.25. Thanks for the smiles. steavenr-Thank you for finding it clever. Alison-If you could taste the tequilla then I think I just bought you a shot. Thanks much. Ruth - If your senses were engaged then I am happy. Thank you much. Ratleader - I am not sure of what meter it is as I just type with my eyes closed until the pop open. I thank you for your comments and happy you found it effective. Dark - Bud light??????? Is that a real beer?? Thank you my friend of SO CA |
