In a search for understanding
true harmony is lost
between the real intrinsic self
and this temporal state.

It’s like the mind chooses denial
of its innate stretch and reach
for as it seeks to know the route
and how the roads crisscross
it lands within a ditch
of only its five senses.

And in this ditch it’s like a frog
in jump in/out of self
to land again, again, again,
on good old mother earth
and croak unsynchronized
with the truth of who it is.

Ordained perhaps for frogs, you/me,
because we can’t walk on air
or be sustained and fortified
by the sense of an invisible
energetic flow
that neither holds nor strokes, touches,
the body beautiful.

But frogs don’t cry, they don’t lie,
frogs are happy, yes?

A philosophical write, one that makes this reader ponder.
(Sadly, frogs are disappearing these days, due to rampant viruses and loss of habitat.)

Yo dear Helen,

What you say is very true.  I have never seen an unhappy frog.  They always seem to be smiling.

So much wisdom in the content of this and you build upon it smoothly.  A wonderful read indeed.  Now time for me to go ponder as to why the princess really kisses the frog.

Thank you so much Kacy, Bobby, Hal and Mark.

And, Mark, the princess kisses the frog because she knows - she plain and simply knows.  Your comment gave me a chuckle.  Thank you.

Dear Helen, I am always amazed how you weave your philosophical ponderings with beautiful poetic expressions.

Sometimes with less effort, in silence and from a place of emptiness the understanding manifests quite naturally.

I love frogs and I think I could kiss it, but I wonder would it let me or would it just jump to a safe distance?

Love and hugs, dear Poetess.

You know, this really made me think and that is so true! I've never seen a frog that's not smiling. How odd...
(Then again, I don't see frogs all to often, maybe I'm mistakin ;]

I think I kissed a "frog" once and it jumped to a safe distance but then again maybe it was a frog in disguise.     Thanks, dear Margherita.

Arctic - thanks so much for the read.  Glad you enjoyed.

HeliaHeart - Welcome to Pip and thanks so much for your comment.

::smiles::    I like this     I like everything you write.   This reminds me of something Po Chang is reported to have said...

Thank you, Pantheress.  I really do appreciate your comment.

Larry - Hi!  Everything I write?  Wow!  Thank you so much.  I guess I must be lazy to just watch a frog jump and not get on an ox!     Still, I guess it doesn't matter what we do or don't do because we're unlikely to get there anyway.  I don't like not knowing "stuff" but there are too many missing pieces in this particular puzzle and I've ... grown lazy.
