You turned my world all upside down
It seemed I was frozen in a time
And, I just wasn't sure what I should do
So many things had run through my mind

I gave it every chance I thought it had
After all, I never have been a quitter
Deep down inside my aching heart
I had hoped that things would get better

It has been nearly six long years ago
Since the day I finally up and left you
There has been so many struggles
Still, I have managed to make it through

You had put yourself upon a pedestal
As if you were some kind of king, saying
That I couldn't make it out on my own
My thought was what on earth are you thinking?

For fifteen long years I had made it on my own
Why on earth would you think I couldn't then
This ole gal has a lot of determination and
You can bet your last dime...that I will win
