     Autumn-crisp Moon

An Autumn-crisp moon
startles the mind
and stirs the soul
on this windy November
  hill
of dark oak and white frost
Winter premonitions,
lining the dimming
twilight-forest path
into evening.
The sound of distant,
tenuous, quavering bells
heralds the silent
fall of night's equanimity
upon all restless and
inscrutable designs of men.

I always enjoy the beauty and depth of your poetry, Bruce. Even the very sad ones are so profound and lovely that I forget the sadness behind them.

Bruce,

I don't believe that anyone here paints the moon as well as you do.  Thank you for the masterpieces that you share.
