Stolen Dreams
By Paul Wilson

Before light of tomorrow
embraces my being
I’ll die a thousand deaths
or so it seems

Days of long ago
when there was no pain
Life was wonderful and kind
happiness greeted me each day

How could I know
what the future held
A body engulfed by pain
aged beyond it’s years

Touch me hold me help me
ease the pain once more
Let my heart and body
feel happiness once again

Darkness hides my tears
as pain steals the years
Things forgotten betray
the person I use to be

You give me hope and strength
too fight this battle each day
Let the ocean of tears I’ve cried
wash away this pain inside of me

Gently hold me in your tender arms
touch my heart with your love
Be my refuge when the pain
becomes too much to bear

~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~

Oh, Paul, I certainly hope that the pain of which you write so convincingly, is not your
own. I know you often write of other people's
experiences and empathize with them.

This write really choked me up. You are a wonderful writer ~ and I pray all is well with you...

Sending you a warm, comforting hug ~ whether you need it or not,
Linda

This poem is so terribly sad I don't know what to say.

My genuine sympathy dear friend, your poem is so poignant and so very sad. Keep the chin up and I wish you all the best.

Oh, this is so sad. I sure know about pain. I have often wished I had someone to take away the pain. Atleast, to ease it some.

Thanks to all that have read and replied, I really appreciate your concern. This was written from the stand point of another person talking directed at me. Again many thanks...Paul
