Is this

Somehow though
You couldn’t love yourself
Given the cost and sacrifice
You regardless and nevertheless
Were supposed to be happy

Now old man
Let me ask you
Before you go
Before God or nothing
Who can tell

Wasn’t that
A kick in the head
