        Autumn Afterlight

In the fading Autumn afterlight
and fine November moon rising,
the last crisp-spin leaves settle
on the frosting forest floor,
with a lovely mix of thoughts and
  memories
that part the veil of Time's oblivion,
for one last precious glimpse
of that youthful retro-world of dreams
  and fantasy ...
when all hearts and hearths
seemed warm and welcoming.
