When we can feel the heart break, it means we are alive ... and strong enough to mend it with the next breath, if we decide so. ((((Eric)))) Margherita |

Thanks for the replies everyone. There's a Zen saying - it's the space within a vase that allows flowers to be placed there. A teacher of mine once held a silver dollar in his hand and asked me to take it from his tightened fist. Of course I could not - and then he broke his fist open and asked me to try again. Then I understood. Now...at this stage of my life I am beginning to (really) Know what he was trying to show me. Without spaciousness - we have nothing to give and nothing to receive. Everything breaks - but clinging to broken pieces only brings suffering. It's impossible to grasp space - it only allows. Love, Eric [This message has been edited by Ericc (07-20-2008 06:33 PM).] |

It's impossible to grasp space - it only allows. Thank you, dear Eric, for this addition. It is illuminating, though it is not an easily comprehensible concept. Margherita |

On another note - it's impossible to be grasped by space. We can only let go and become more in our own personal lessening. Spiritual healer Joseph Goldsmith called our lifetime a "parenthese in eternity". And once the heart is broken from it's "need" (only what we think it needs)the parenthese opens to eternity during this very moment. Would any one of us (truly) trade an old love that left us semmingly "broken" for this moment earased? Maybe? But it's that very heartbreak that creates the spaceiousness that allows us to love again, more fully, deeper and with a hope that reaches past the parentheses onto eternity itself. |
