The sands of time run swiftly now- My cowboyin’s nearly done. Accordin’ to my point of view, I had a real good run. I’d like to make my last request- To you bronc ridin’ hands… When I have drawn my final breath- Just take me to Cheyenne. You know she’s known to cowboys- As the Daddy of ‘em All. When you’ve done good at Cheyenne… You can rightly stand real tall. Lane Frost is still behind the chutes- When cowboys rosin up- I dreamed of buckin’ out up there- Since I was just a pup- You can cremate my body- Put the ashes in a can… And scatter them across the dirt- At the big show in Cheyenne. |
