'Optimism' ... what's that (an 'extinct species' perhaps)?! The hardest thing for me has been the surrender of 'idealism' mid the "Runaway American Dream" How do I explain to my son, John that 'democracy' has devolved into something quite corrupt and sinister compared to the original intent of his ancestor, John (and Thomas J. and the other 'founding revolutionaries' from the old world social order) It has been said that "the worst 'death' is the loss of all hope!" ... Unfortunately, I truly understand that expression now! MUCH applause for this effective 'penning'! |
