Bones never could quite understand
how some people could be so cruel.

He searched his mind for a reason,
and could come up with none.

It was all well way beyond his ken.

What some people did to him,
he could never do to anyone.

Bones does realize,
that since he’s just a kid,
there’s no reason
he could understand,
what drives some people
to hurt him so very much.

Bobby

Bones doesn't understand cruelty because he has a beautiful soul and he isn't cruel.

Children, as you well know, Bobby, are capable of thought and understanding way deeper and beyond that of many adults.

In most cases, we all start off with equal gifts, but so many people squander theirs in the process of growing up, and have lost them, particularly the gifts of sensitivity and caring for individuals/the community/the nation/humanity, by the time they reach adulthood.  Some regain them to a degree, but some go the rest of their lives in barren deprivation.  That is achingly sad.  I would rather be Bones as a child, or Bones as an adult (being a composite, he did reach adulthood in others) than one of those so-called privileged people who hurt him in any way.

Bobby - some people are like that, but they have more than problems. Bones will understand in time...

Thanks dearest Owl,

You have a deep understanding of human nature.

Yes, Bones is very much a composite of a number of people.  Some are dead, and some are, thank heavens, very much alive.

Thanks Bill,

What you say is very true.  The living Bones do understand such things very well.
