      Autumn Passing (#2)

Sunken brilliant-rainbow leaves
still flash a startling color mix
that shines from the mirror-lake
   shallows,
wonderously cloaked in a light,
soft, and lovely blanket of fresh
  November snow.
Here...
(unlike the world of men)
there are no sharp edges
nor masked intent,
to corrupt this fine
  wintry wilderness
on the eve of Autumn
  passing.

Yo Secondhanddreampoet,

This is good work, I liked it.  Do youse have snow up there already?  All the leaves have fallen here in Philly.

I welcome the first snowfall, especially when it's a 'gentle' event, rather than a fierce icestorm or blizzard.

An exquisite follow-on from the previous Autumn Passing!  I again felt at home in the peace and beauty of a seasonal change which is completely foreign to my own surroundings.

Bruce,
Us Arizonians appreciate such kind reminders and vivid images. Thanks.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
