Winners and Losers

The votes are not all counted,
The die is not yet cast,
But "Oh I am so happy"
The day is here at last.

The day when negativity
Shall yield to affirmation,
Emails no longer filled with hate
And words of defamation.

I hope the answer's loud and clear
Not lingered on for days;
Our country of one mind again
Proud of the flag we raise.

When the people all have spoken
And had their rightful say,
I hope the mighty winner is
The good old USA.

Yo dear Joyce,

You have it right Hon.  We'll know something soon.

I love this little poem, it made me laugh-out-loud.

Love Bobby

I have doubts that the U.S.A. is going to be a winner, but, like you, can't wait for it all to be over with. I too am sick of all the garbage.

Very well written.

I really liked this. You didn't feel the need to place the candidate you support. You so poetically and so greatly spoke past such nonsense. Great write.

I am with you Joyce, I will be glad to see the end of emails with negative content for either candidate.  We all forget that these are both highly trained, committed individuals that wish to take on a job no one else is jumping up and down to take.  Whomever it is, I hope also that your flag an wave proudly once more.  I am SO glad this day is here.

I loved your message so much that I referenced it in another thread.

I hope you don't mind.

You said it so gracefully, I just had to...

Joyce,

Thank you.  You are such a lady and a wonderful poet.  It's like today the clammoring stopped - yesterday, I received phone calls all day to get out and vote!  Like I needed to be reminded.

Thank you for your sanity.

Alison

I, too am glad it's over...

No matter who was to be the winner, he would have a mountain of problems to help solve.
