Oh, how these dark clouds shroud those days
when my soul soared free, as I became lost
within the words of your verse.

Each page, a dream written, each paragraph
unfolding into a chapter sealed with a kiss
laced in edges of happily ever afters
yet my heart knows that there are more
sunny days waiting to be written

but today,

today my soul is empty as I wait
for your voice to once again
leave footprints across the pages of my life,
marking them with the brilliance of your song
guiding my heart back to where it belongs
within the rainbow splashed colors
of your word, your rhythm

and rhyme

to a place where the sun
forever shines and fairytales
are no longer needed
to shield me safe from all harm
and I am once again held
within the sanctuary

of your arms.

beautiful write...great phrases and lovely word choices

I especially liked this:
"today my soul is empty as I wait
for your voice to once again
leave footprints across the pages of my life"

Very nice longing of heart.  The following line of yours ....
--------------------------------
within the rainbow splashed colors
of your word, your rhythm
--------------------------------

That image is what life, love, and happiness feels like when all is right with the world.  Enjoyed much.

"leave footprints across the pages of my life,"

Lovely.  Everything about this piece is special, from the phrases to the style of font and the lay-out.  Lovely.

Enjoyed

I know those arms of embrace.
You will wear them well again soon
Meantime you will wear  your own with great fortitude and elegance in words

Darling friend,

John is right.  Life IS short - and may you always be loved.  You are a wonderful lady and you deserve more than the fairy tales.

Love,
Alison

I know I don’t have the right words to describe feelings this one has evoked. Excellent!
