Time for Trick or Treat?

"We don't have time?"
running her fingers above
his ears through his dark hairline

"No, we don't have time,"
hugging her closely to him
smelling her unique perfume

"Are you sure?" she questions
while his tongue traces a line
from her collarbone to ear

"Yes, I am sure," he whispers
as he leans down for a kiss
elevating them further

"I do understand," she responds
perched on the balls of her feet
with her teeth grasping his lip

"I really mean it, we don't have time,"
he states while one large hand slides
to the small of her backside

"Sweetie are you looking at your watch?"
she questions as he struggles
in exhaustive frustration

Ding-dong, the sound of the doorbell is heard
in frightening unison
they scream, "Dang! trick or treaters"

I say put the candy on the porch, turn out the lights and enjoy the real treats.

but of course some treats are even better when we have to wait for them. I enjoyed the read

Yo dear Janette,

I have a bag with 180 candybars for the kids.  It's crowded here in the hood, with loads of candy hungry kids.

Everyone on the block sits out side their house passing out candy bars.  We've been doing it for years.

Of course, were a row house neighborhood.  About ten houses per block, one built right next to the other.

Robert - I am agreeing with you, passing out candy to the kids is a fun holiday tradition. I pass out the giant Snickers bars here from my home in Chicagoland. My husband says if we give really nice "treats" then hopefully we will not get tricked. *wink wink*
