she whispers low, a hushed embrace
as if to sing a siren's song
"come, listen to my muse-borne voice"
a ballad sweet with words so strong

I stretch the sistine finger-reach
as though she surely speaks for God
and wonder how I could face my quill
I bow my mind with a simple nod

"I surrender", I softly say
for there's no inspire without her voice
my mind steps out...she comes to play
when she knows I've finally made my choice

the words are penned with blazing speed
and when I wake, 'tis those I read

for when I wake, she takes her leave

Why does sex surely speak for God more than the intellect? I enjoyed your read.

"The Moving Finger writes, and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line.."

Dreams are a powerful music in the heart.
Representative of a wish, working to be born into reality.
Enjoy your muse-ic.

Wow!

The call of the Siren, I just adore this type of mythical figure, and you have put a wonderful twist on it here.

And please know that I have read this piece several times, and I just now realized that I forgot to respond to let you know how much I enjoyed it.  Oppps!  I appologize.

yann,
thank you so much for reading and commenting...modesty?  I can only say that I am proud of that.

Callista,
not sure, my friend, not sure

TD,
I think I wait for your comments sometimes just so I can see something fresh in what I have written.  Thanks for being so kind.

Janette,
thank you kindly and certainly no apologies necessary...I know that I do that all the time

steavenr...Enjoyed very much. Maybe that muse of your's will stay awhile during the time you are awake. Once I was sleeping and a poem came to me, I woke up grabbed pen and paper and wrote it in about 10 minutes, it was about my 2 grand daughters, so I gave then a copy long ago...Paul
