Another old something or another found *** I've worn down some roads with my boot heels I've worn out the patience of kin I've stared into the black hole of cold steel Seen my life from beginning to end I've seen straight roads that held lots of blind curves I've seen curves that made men take a wife Some paths led to people I'll love all my life Some forks in the road can cut like a knife There are people on the roads that I travel There are roads in the people I meet It's one step at a time and don't take your mind off of where you're placing your feet Even roads paved in gold aint no easy street Once, where two rodes came together I ran into more than I'd bargained for The dust-devil I'd hitched, jumped over the ditch and I rode it right up to her door Days turned to months of a good thing 'Til she whispered in my ear soft and sweet "Take your guitar and dreams...your heart and your wings... and lay them all down at my feet" Atleast, that's how it sounded to me Well, I made my way into her memory and she made her way into my song So, neither one of us came away empty How can she say that I done her wrong? Some folks waste time on"if only" What could have been don't change what is The only thing wrong with the lonely, is them thinking they're all that exist. Everyone has exits and on ramps they've missed *** |

nice write...thoroughly enjoyed, but I think I'll need to read it again to make sure I don't miss any of its nuances loved this: "There are people on the roads that I travel There are roads in the people I meet" |
