I kissed your lips and felt a bird Soaring through my chest, not my mind The sunlight on the dampened stone: That is my hope and faith in you I walk a block to the music Store but I’m always so landlocked It doesn’t work; it rarely does I’m trying out this meter to Find the harmony I had with You, but it won’t work now, either I bought a cheap guitar to write And learn; and sing to keep the hope I ran five miles today and It’s not enough; I’ll run some more Take my poem and know I’m here Waiting like a lost bloomed rose in A desert of the deepest sand Hold me sweet beauty forever |
