My heart pounds as the beat thumps,
the speakers vibrating,
edges shimmering in a faded glow,
Contents of the room bursting forth,
the room only a hazy dull,
drummer facing away,
shirt syncing in rhythm as he plays,
the hem stopping and whipping up as the beat waits,
then at the same moment,
slowly whips it down,
the colors of the game,
contrasted as I sit staring from the side,
the bursts of color like exploding imagined galaxies,
the flares and movement echoing across as the music plays,
the smoke rolling forth,
tangled in a slow waltz,
revealing hints of blue in the cloud as it fades away,
my body pulsing like a warm glow,
conversation becomes null,
my attention wains,
the spoken a slurred response,
as I find myself bound tongue to mouth,
rasping forth,
a puzzled reply,
as a drink appears,
downing with a trace route,
the path emitting recognition,
as I reveled in the release of tongue and care,
a complacent "okay.",
as the beat stops.

I remember those types of days...mostly in my friend's college dorm room and listening to 'Good Vibrations' (shows how long ago that was) on his killer audiophile lp player...our whole dorm floor vibrated

This made me think of the 1970's for some reason. Oh! And I read it conjurred up the 1960's to steavenr. All the same, this write is a memory jogger to many. May the beat go on....

ok,guys...the song might have been a '66 release, but my first year of college was '70 (and that is NOT 1870)...so yes, there was life before digital
