Harvey was a wet brain His skull was a bowl of mush There weren't any ideas rattling around They were bogged down in the slush Waiting on some boot leg knotty head in an apathetic part of town... he met a hostage tied in grape vines. The whites of his eyes were brown. In a battle over the Devil's pee, the wino shoved the dagger in... Harvey filled the gutter with a flood of blood and gin. Sometimes you didn't listen Sometimes I didn't talk I know there's been times in the past when we helped each other walk. There's no use feeling guilty when old ghosts come around. Sometimes there aint no place to crawl and you watch it all go down. *** |

Far too true. Thus is life. Some people fall in love and touch the sky, some people fall in love and find quicksand. |

Larry, I was surprized by the 4th verse, It is very good but seemed like it belonged in another poem. I wanted to hear the rest of the first three verses. To me this seems like 2 different stories. It left me wanting to hear more. Tracey. |
