These are my first attempts at poetry.  I wrote these in a rather happy point in my life and I believe the writing reflects that.  7th grade was about 8-10 years ago.  I have not edited it any... so excuse the errors.

stuff from 7th grade

"above us" published in some ripoff poetry book
Your an angel,
with wings of despair,
You float high above,
In the hopes of coming down,
I look into your eyes,
See their fierily glow,
Then that moment,
That moment of silence

"music"
Music flowing by,
What purpose shall I find,
In holding them into light?,
Shall this be the price of waiting,
In a world of untold deafness?

"Las Vegas"
Neon colors lighting this city,
The city of what ever it was to be,
but certainly never would,
Neon colors dulling, becoming
fragments of what could have been.

"awaken"
Tell me again, am I awake now?,
Shake me from this dream,
This dream of emptiness,
Wake me from this darkness,
Show me a new view,
A view of awareness

"untitled"
Stuck in the winds of change,
so accustomed to awareness,
now without a hold of truth,
everyday a spiraling road that leads
to the tides of nothing.

"untitled"
Like the color of red, you shocked
this world,
But so quickly you faded,
faded away into a depth of blue,
only to emerge colorless.

"untitled"
Walking through the sunken streets of paradise,
bathing in the translucent lights of life,
watching shades of blue fall from the sky,
explode into darkness.

"Sunny"
It's quite deceiving,
seeing the sun rise again,
It seems to have control,
over all it shines upon,
once again it slowly falls,
To rise again,
Deceiving me, yet another day.

I enjoyed these, but I would love to read your current work.  Do you still write?
