A SENTIMENTAL TEAR A sentimental tear is what remains of love that has been lost. Though sorrow has long spent its life, yet it reaches back into itself in sudden jolts that wrench a tear from the heart’s most intimate well, sweetly primed by a long ago tune illuminated by memory’s delicate prism lifted gently from the eye of innocence onto a weathered cheek of acceptance. I cannot allow words to define such a tear. For in truth I do believe that words of remorse are but a veil that hides the joy of all fulfilling moments lived To speak of love, I must allow an equal tear of pleasure to flow in grace and beauty from the same well to represent the innocence of tiny fingertips that softly stroke my breast and put a mother’s sacred memories to rest For it was never meant to be that life should be an ever flowering tree Blossoms that adorn the bough today are gifts from God and deserve equal praise as those that bloomed in yesterday’s season Elizabeth Santos |

"For it was never meant to be that life should be an ever flowering tree" sad and true, yet? I always thought that it was poetically beautiful that the fruit and flowers of these things green, are the seed of continuity... (I didn't mean to rhyme! ) very lovely musings from a very lovely lady |

Your words often speak to what is within my heart that I don't know how to express. This is so touching and so true. Well done, Elizabeth. |

Wow, this is very beautiful. Such deep and thoughtful sentiments. Somewhat sad. The answer is always NO, Until the question is asked. |

This is a bit of a different format than I am used to seeing from you Liz, and it is lovely. The flow is gentle and progressive ... with beautiful and thought-provoking lines throughout. I enjoyed the full concept of this piece. Wonderful Liz! Best wishes and hugs, /Kit |
