Remote Control As I sit down each evening to watch some television I use the ole remote control to help make a decision It always has an honored spot beside my easy chair Tonight when I reached out for it I found it wasn't there I searched around in a panic, wherever could it be? Without it I’m not sure that I can work my own TV My wife has surely moved it and I quickly give a look She doesn’t understand the fright my pounding heart just took Thank the Lord I find it laying there upon her table I put it down to get a snack then sit to watch some cable I'm quite relaxed and then I start to turn the TV on I reach for the remote again and some how it is gone How could it disappear? I muse, and soon begin to grouch I search and find it wedged between the cushions of the couch Surely I could now relax and use the blessed thing But as I start to point it, then the phone begins to ring This time I’ll be much smarter, what a clever guy I’ll be When I get up to get the phone I'll take it there with me I finish with my phone call and return back to my chair Everything is ready but the remote control’s not there When I got up to get the phone so happy with myself I left the damn remote control right there upon the shelf You know I would go get it, but I really think instead That since my show's now over I will simply go to bed |

Steve~ Fun-on-the-run~ LOL, my remote controls used to go to bed at 9 !! Bless their little hearts~ I remember when their little batteries would wear out~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

This one really hits home, Stephen. If I'm not searching for the remote I am looking for the phone I hear ringing and can't find and when I do find it it will be going dead because I forgot to put it back on the hook. I have 6 telephones on 2 different lines and sometimes I have a hard time finding one that works. I don't know if I could make all of that rhyme though. Ida |

Giggling too, at the wicked disappearance manoeuvres of these things! It happens alll the time here too. Very cute and well written, dear Stephen. Funny, the choice to read your poem was a good one, it helped drying the tears which surged after reading serenity's "summering". Love, Margherita |

Oh, my goodness sakes alive! Can I ever identify with that! ~ as I am sure, most readers will! I think a great invention would be to have a 'clapper' remote! You clap and it beeps! Enjoyed!!! Love 'n hugs 'n laughs, Linda |
