This memory fades with progression, our past submerging into unconsciousness, the times slipping into confusion, no longer a bond formed, only attempts at reminiscent events, events that formed our core, the core that now slides away, unable to grasp it as it fades from thought, merging with uncertainty, what purpose did we serve, united as friends, forgotten in time, these strains not our own, grasping for reasons to justify this contact, actions becoming void as the truth emerges, an unkind realization that our times are lost, our purpose only to seek comfort in that which is familiar, childhood friends once, but no - you are not my friend, merely the shell that represents a time for which I yearn. I wrote this rather fast before I went to bed. I would love to refine it at a later point but I enjoy the raw emotion that I put into it. This begins my imposed three poem limit despite suggestions to spread my work out. I do not have the time to spread it out. I'm a busy busy slacker. Oh and I'll be posting more when I can. Including all the work I did in 7th grade... which wasn't a recent experience. |

lots of interesting nuances...not the least of which I found interesting was a "busy, busy slacker" (may not be in the body of the text, but I found it not only interesting, but entertaining) |
