momma always used to laugh at me when I was a boy talking to dragons in the sky but never to dogs that wagged said I was a strange boy then talking to things that were not real and just petting the important but never getting close to them momma always used to laugh at me when I was a man taking to highways beside oceans but never to lovers that smiled said I was a strange boy then talking to things that were not real and just petting the important but never getting close to them and now momma says she talks to god __________________ daark |

You are not suggesting that there is reason to laugh at Momma, are you?  With age comes wisdom, dear D.! Talking to God is a sign of deep awareness/awakening in my opinion. And I think Momma wouldn't laugh anymore at you now for talking to dragons. Highways too can be spiritual when the mind soars along with the motor! I get the impression that meanwhile you have learned to appreciate love too. Proof your awesome poetry. In this very stirring poem you are talking about god ... but before long you might talk to him and discover how REAL he actually is ... and you might get real close then! oh, and I love the strange boy you reveal here ... Ms mar, thanks for the read. Momma talks to god because she is with him (I guess) and dogs always thought we were dragons that lived forever even though they were only momentary friends and only knew a panting instant of our years. Highways are the only curves that have danger signs clearly posted and slowing down with them is safe to do most of the time. ____________ Ms MMs strange is always good is printed on the label of my prozac bottle. I thought we were all strange (I would be disappointed if I wasn't) And, as for the fourth stanza being unnecessary, it sets up the last line perfectly - the coup de grace. |
