Bones turns eleven years old.
The welfare people decide
that Mom’s not taking good care of him.

She’s not feeding him enough.

The night they took Bones away
was not a pretty scene.

What with both Bones and Mom,
carrying on,
crying and screaming.

The people they gave Bones to,
treated him rotten.

They wanted him to work all the time,
and did strange stuff to him.

Bones didn’t like the place at all.

He ran away as soon as he could,
and went back to find Mom.

Bones and Mom made sure
the welfare
couldn’t find him again.

Bones basically disappeared
from the face of the earth.

Bones was soon forgotten
by everyone,
except for Mom.

Bobby

Like I told you before, I have observed foster care and think it sucks.

Thanks dear Ida,

Yes, foster care is very much a gamble for a kid.  Some time you strike it rich, but not often.

EXCELLENT indictment of a cruelly flawed system!

As I also restated on Del's most recent 'write', I am glad that a fine few still have the 'right stuff' to do these "social impact/conscience"
and "reality therapy" writes...that should be a 'must read' for everyone about all those trapped (and trampled) by this "Runaway American Dream"

applause!

Thanks Secondhanddreampoet,

Yes, it is a cruelly flawed system.  There is too much money in it for people that don’t care for the children.

It’s much better to keep kids in their home, with adequate money for their care, even if it a little bit.

Well funded, properly supervised orphanages are also a good idea.

Right again Bobby, and the kid has no say in the matter.

Thanks Chopsticks,

What you say is very true.  No one listens to the kid.
