A passing breeze
turns summer shade
into a cool blue
misting the fall
   in cyclone skirts.

Sashaying foliage
and autumn plaids
draw upon the weave of tweed
and worn out leather
   buckles in season.

Winter whites
ruffle a quiet heart
a gold locket
with a broken clasp
ties to the past
accented with
a strand of pearls
   in place of you.

A chill descends
carressing my cheek
my scarf wrapped tight
enveloping the wishing
in light of the rain fall
a scented missing
   lingers in the fog.

Well now, you are creative to the max. You put images in my head in combinations I haven't experience until you. And I find them so fresh and delightful. It leaves me smiling at the thought of believing that all, indeed, is okay.

I tell ya, I've been so relective of my life and times these days, yep the seasons do indeed go round and round...and they're going faster all the time.  Gosh, it's hard to believe 2008 is winding down already. Hence, my inspiration, or part of it anyway.  The other part is fluff and love stuff, and of course the missing, it's just hard to shake.

Ida~  Thanks so much for your sweet reply, I really do appreciate your visit...
glad to know it puts you in the mood too.

Larry Larry Larry~  I am always so tickled when I see you here.
Thank you for all the kindness you share with me.  Hugs, bub~

It really is quite amazing how you put so much in just 2-4 words a line!  So quietly, yet urgently succient.
We could all take a clue from your style!!

Wow, dear Lori, you have created an awesome piece of poetry here. I love everything about it, the form, the content, the rhythm.

Love,

Your images in this are rich and vivid and the emotions tacked on to it are superb.  Your poetry has grown leaps and bounds over the years and it is always a treat to read your words.  I especially liked the following
-----------------------------------------
Winter whites
ruffle a quiet heart
a gold locket
with a broken clasp
ties to the past
accented with
a strand of pearls
   in place of you.
-------------------------------------------

followed by the next is a perfect merge from one to the other.
------------------------------------------
A chill descends
carressing my cheek
my scarf wrapped tight
enveloping the wishing
in light of the rain fall
a scented missing
   lingers in the fog.

Dear Margherita~
You are such a sweetie, thank you for always being here.

Mark~
It is delightful to see you here,  your visits mean a great deal to me.
More importantly your support and encouraging words
are appreciated more than you can imagine. Thank you kindly.

Honey~  I suppose I am an emotional writer, because I honestly
don't know any other way....there's so much going on on this ol' heart of mine.
Thank you always.

steavenr~
That is pretty high praise and I am humbled by your gracious reply.
Thanks so much.

Nan~
I kind of like those skirts too, I had a vision of the wind
lifting the hem just enough to make me want to skip to my lou.
Thank you for reading me.

Oh!  You took autumn out of your closet and shook it out for us all to admire!  And admire I did.  What a wardrobe.  I love the textures of the fabrics and the lovely, vibrant colors.

Thank you.

Hugs and smiles to you,
Alison

A most fine ‘write’
(with grand imagery!)…

I am especially fond of the
ending (particularly the
very last line)!:

“A chill descends
carressing my cheek
my scarf wrapped tight
enveloping the wishing
in light of the rain fall
a scented missing
   lingers in the fog.”

MUCH long-sustained applause
for this ‘penning’!

Alison~  You gave me a chuckle with your reply, I guess I did take everything out of my closet.  Now I'm all dressed up with no where to go.     Thank you so much for your sweet reply, you warmed my heart you did.  Smiling right back at you.

dreampoet~~ Oh I miss my life as I knew it and yet....the missing, you know, it tugs at my heart strings.
Thanks for taking the time to read and reply.  Appreciate it very much.

It seems like the seasons come and go rather quickly anymore. Just like the months and days.
