“Upon the Steps”

As I sit upon the steps
Of sunset hue
Peering at the vacant sky

The wind howls through my empty soul

As I sit upon the steps
Of darkened night
Gazing at the starry heavens

The waves crash upon my shattered heart

As I sit upon the steps
Of midday’s light
Blinded by the luminous sky

Waiting for a dawn that my never come.


Hey, I havn't written in a number of years, but I recently got that itch... so I figured I'd give it another go.
