Immorality in the Garden The dandelion consorting with mere weeds Is daring as she throws her seeds In such a wanton, willful, way. I fear she'll lead good plants astray. She hasn't learned that less is more, Common the world does not adore. Such lusty, raw prolificeness Has branded her promiscuous. The progeny she has thrown about, Are born but to be weeded out. Had she proven herself to be well bred. She could have had her own rich garden bed. By: Joyce 7/15/08 |

Your poems about gardening are delightful. Joyce. No weeds in your garden of words. Ida |

Joyce, "The progeny she has thrown about, Are born but to be weeded out." Not always, some of us do quite well. Bobby |

Bobby Dear. Truly, I'm talking about the bane of my existence, the dandelion. Love, Joyce |

Dear Joyce, Always remember, young dandelion shoots are good to eat. The flowers can also make good wine. I've made some excellent batches of wine from the flowers. Here are some directions for making dandelion salad and wine. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Dandelion-Salad/Detail.aspx http://www.texascooking.com/recipes/dandelionwine.htm Love Bobby |
