Autumn number
=
A tilted road meanders through
the yards of autumn. Perfect
maples burn with desire
to be admired. You can
stand here for a lift that
you really do not want,
forever. Like that boulder.

Or you can visit uncle’s
home at a “half an hour”
distance away, till now promised
but not visited. You almost
set out until you realize
he has been dead since last fall.
Ash. An ash dog is crossing
the road. Ask it to come home
and reload the idea
of a home. It is a time
you will crave for a partner
to cook for and to rebuke.

So many things have left you,
so many things that could have
been renewed like that lapsed card
of library. For now the dog
will do for a talk partner.

Oh my, this is a real beauty! The opening lines artistically set the scene, and you paint your characters with an intimate yet gently distant brushstroke. Very fine write, my friend.

This is Poignant, I like the melancholy and  the story about the dead uncle and the dog...It's quite delicious.

A feeling of longing here but a very sensitive and thoughtful write.

Dear Ku, you do autumn justice with this melancholic write, very beautifully done.

When my own uncle died last week, I was really grateful for having visited him and my aunt for a last time not long ago. The older I get the more people move on ... it IS the touch of time passing so quickly you can't grab it.

Thank you for sharing your realism in such a wonderful creative way.

Love,
Margherita

Kushal, this is beyond exquisite - the layers, the network of little pathways of thought leading off from bigger ones, reveals the delicious intricacies of your mind.  I especially love the dog.
