The flower of love has wilted and died
in the garden of all I wished and desired
but the roots I decree are as healthy as me
and can scrutinize a different approach.

They look to the left; what’s right hasn’t been
and make ready to finally relocate feel
into the depths of unfertilized soil
still soil to the roots of a need.

Days pass into weeks; not yet is it done
for it’s like the roots refuse to let go
from the sand that enabled the flower
to open up unto love.

‘tis a stranger to truth that digs up roots
and transplants in the hope of new growth
but more strange the one who allows demise
of love’s intrinsic nature.

Days pass into weeks; not yet is it done.
The flower is dead, the roots won’t move,
and the truth of love like a victim
becomes bogged in a false façade!

May that flower bloom again soon, dear Helen! I enjoyed the beautiful poetic ponderings of your searching heart. Let the heart take care of the plant of love and it will give and give and while enjoying the giving the blossoming will occur.

Love and hugs.

Helen,

Once I had a flower and thought it was dead.  But before I tossed it out, I put it in new soil in a new pot and watered it with fertilizer.  Now it blooms and shows me its beauty very often.

Sometimes we just have to give our flowers time.

Goodness, have you read mine entitled "Bloom" - it sees the whole different end of the flower.

Thank you all so much for reading and for commenting.  I'm trying not to write because I'm "thinking twice" but I am here reading all the fine offerings from pip poets and enjoying them tremendously.  I hope to soon be back to commenting.

Dear Helen, we all ponder love and its roots my friend, it depends on the soil in which it grows and the care it is given. Enjoyed the post my friend, thank you.
