So easy just to think not be
the epitome of all love feels
and drag a woman by the hair
into the heartache fields.

Lay her down and roll in dust
the body, mind, and more
but of her soul do not trespass
the boundaries now put in place
to keep the loving out.

She leans back hands on hips
and this surveyor of the scene
not yet satisfied
coils and rolls another batch
of impenetrable barbed wire
unmindful of the hurt
that boundaries always bring.

And then when finally she’s done
she waits but there’s no tear
not yet and maybe not ever
because once the switch-off has begun
the rest follows like a puppy dog
after the master of intent.

She’s free at last of other’s needs
or her need to be needed
and she awaits the Ides of March
for already she’s in tune
with what she has to think
to become as if she’s not!

Helen,  this seams like a cold and lonely place.  turned off by necessity and blocking by need. May your future bring you joy and happiness.  This poem made me feel,,Wow.  It made me FEEL.

Hi, WTBAKELAR.  Yes, the poem's as a result of what I have been made to feel so it's really just a vent ... but the vent is closed and the stale air lingers. Cold places usually warm up eventually but they're never quite the same again.
