You say what if? And so do I
The time that passed again came by
Would we change a thousand things?
Or kiss the chance goodbye

What if you were someone else?
A gender change and life you lead
No different would you know about
Or answers of it need

What if dreams they all came true?
But then you found they would not come
Would you seek a wonder new?
Or worry of it none

What if we were happy just?
With all the things that life dished out
No complaints and smiles a must
Now that would be a turnabout!

What if; that’s the question hey?
A thought that haunts when day is wrong
But nothing we can change from fate
for in its time, we all belong

Hi Rick - "But nothing we can change from fate
for in its time, we all belong"

You are probably right and there's certainly merit in just accepting fate but I can't do that even though I am quite happy with what I've got.  If I shake hands with "fate" then it's like I'm not in charge of my own life and I would so much like to think that I am.

Thank you for your words!

Dear Helen, great to get you comment my friend, shaking the hand of fate, would be shaking the hand of what is to be, I think fate is what will be, we can change all that we would like, but that is what was going to happen anyway. Something to think on isn't it, we shall together ok. Have a great day and again thank you for your reply.

What ifs? are always welcome, m'friend...
just as long as no one says, "who cares?"

You know I do!
