Hanna, Ike and Josephine Mother Nature getting mean! Strangest sight I've ever seen Hanna, Ike and Josephine. Three disaster is a row See them come and hear them blow Pop some corn and watch the show Will they hit us? We don't know. Hanna's Carolina-bound Ike's the next to come around. No such thing as higher ground Wind can make a nasty sound Josephine is still too far. Time to hoist one at the bar. Hide! She won't know where you are (But don't forget to pack the car!) Hanna, Ike and Josephine Scenario is quite obscene. Mother Nature, you ARE mean! Hanna, Ike and Josephine. |

Yo Balladeer, This is excellent. It's good you can have a little fun with your Florida disasters. Good luck to you down there. Bobby |

What a trio indeed! This is such an impressive write. Mother nature will hear you and start right away an examination of conscience! May they quickly fade! Love, Margherita |

Storms are brewing dear oh dear But what the Pipsters greatly fear Is that before they disappear They’ll blow away ol’ Balladeer Those storms are just a piece of cake For there’s much worse he’s had to take And we’ve seen him survive the wake Of the foulest winds to ever break For hurricanes may come and go But there’s no need to worry though ‘Cause none of them will ever blow As much hot air as poor ole Toe Hope you're anchored down well buddy. Take care and Have fun. Steve |

Even with the advent of the possible disaster you face I appreciate the humour - and the quality - of this poem |

Well, looks like the hurricanes have spawned some clever poetry, at least Thank you all for joining in. Laughter (and preparation) is about all we have right now. Be safe, Poet deVine and all the rest of the Florida and southeastern poets. Could be a bumpy ride. btw, I'm throwing away my I LIKE IKE buttons today! |

I'm trying to batten down my hatches but they're under water from Fay and Hanna! It's very hard to nail a wet hatch! I think Florida should just build a big pontoon around it and we can float out of harm's way each time! |

Take out a sail and some in line skates, point it north and when you reach the shores just 4 states north of you, I will have a hot cup of coffee and a "SPAM" sandwich waiting. Mother nature can indeed have an attitude now and then, but can you blame her? A pleasure to read you as always sir Balladear. |

My sister was in Gustav's direct path (they're okay - even with one tree on the roof and another through a window, the damage wasn't bad - but they lost 2 computers and a TV from a lightning strike that hit the cable wires) and I haven't unpacked my "go" bag since Eduardo... this seems to be another hurricane season from hell. Thanks for the touch of levity... I didn't think those danged things could make me grin... but you proved that theory wrong! *G* |
