By the time Bones reaches the age of fourteen, he realizes that absolutely no one is about to look out for his welfare. It’s a very lonely feeling. His main problem is he hasn’t quite learned how to make things right for himself. That will come a few years later. |

You know Bobby, I am reading you, but while doing so I am thinking some people should never have children~~ M |

I do believe that everyone comes here with a purpose and Bones' life and your rendering of it, dear Bobby, induce us to become more compassionate, to try whatever we can to avoid such sadness in children's lives. Love, Margherita |

Thanks dear M, However, I don't agree with that. Everyone born is an individual, with individual potential and worth. Not all really worthwhile lives are easy. Love Bobby |

Bobby, your compassion for Bones has led to a poem that brings out the compassion in others who read of his plights in life. It is as though you got into Bone's bones, so to speak. God bless and protect all the Bones of this world, Love & hugs, Linda |

Bobby, I am not talking about the children, but if a parent(and I say that lightly) is putting a cigarette in a 2 yr olds mouth and is shaking them excessively etc... what is their value...to their child. That is all I am saying. Too many don't know the value of a life or how to care for their child... and I personally am tired of all the excuses in this world for not taking responsibility for the wrongs put upon others. I would never say that a child's life is not worthy... I say that more has to be done to teach parenting or prevent those from harming a life they bring into this world, whether emotionally, mentally or physically. I am enjoying reading you although it brings such sadness to me as I know of others in similar situations to Bones. I am in the elementary teaching profession and see the results of much the same daily. M and as far as this comment (since I feel I have to defend my response above) "I do believe that everyone comes here with a purpose "...other than bringing a life into this world, what have they done for their child, everyone has hardships in their lives whether from time to time or some a whole life of it. I don't disagree on compassion, but for who? Parents who abuse or neglect their children? Thanks again for your postings whether true or not I am sure they exist and do bring much to light. And maybe... touch some who can learn from your words. M |

Thanks dear M, The elementry school years are trying for both teachers and students. Where I went to school, elementry school was the first six years. It took me eight years to get through them. It wasn't fun. Love Bobby |

Bobby, if I had been your teacher I would have made sure you had some fun in learning~~ Today it is even harder to find the time to make or allow learning to be enjoyable but I try my best despite the time constrictions. My Best to you, M |

Thanks dear M, That was during WW II, in Altoona, PA. It was in an old rundown school with mean teachers. My sixth grade teacher however was an angel. She thought I could do it. After sixth grade school was smooth sailing. I graduated near the top of my class from a large high school, and got a full scholorship to the University of Pennsylvania. I'm sure you're a good teacher, taking care of the bad and dirty kids. Love Bobby |

14 is a difficult time under the best of cicumstances. It must have been a nightmare for Bones. Ida |

Thanks dear Ida, Yes, adolescence is a difficult time for every one. It's sad that Bones never survived it, as he was murdered about that time. Love Bobby |
