Transitions Mid the settling clouds and winnowing wind of such a late August evening, along one edge of this grand-eternal stream (that carries away the last dream of Summer), the night remains empty but for close talk of Autumn at hand… with Winter whispering from the farther shore, as the heart walks a road of delicious discord about the soul’s desolation, over all that is fleeting and inevitable. --- b. e. adams (8/30/08) |

I am happy that fall is arriving with all it's "delicious discord" too, Bruce. What a lovely way to say it. Ida |

Wind chimes seemed to play among your words Bruce. Aptly titled, an enjoyable read. |

This is a gently evocative piece - everlasting summer is, sadly, never everlasting. |

"with Winter whispering from the farther shore" That's the shoreline I want Father Winter to stay on for another six months. |

Poignant and graceful, this is well written and greatly enjoyed. |
