People of the favellas, I have money, you haven’t, you have time, I haven’t, but when the sun is too warm, I also push a knife in its conceited heart. |

Thanks Melissa, I have been actually in Rio in 2001 ...But the poem is inspired by movies that I have seen on favellas....I wish sometimes that we could balance our lives with those of the favellas (balance time, balance money, etc...) thank you again for your comment. yann [This message has been edited by 2islander2 (08-30-2008 07:34 AM).] |

Balance is something that comes into a lot of your poems - and not just of the content, but such a fine balance of logic and sensitivity making a beautiful whole. - Owl |

Thank you Owl for commenting... but when the sun is too warm, I also push a knife in its conceited heart. I tried to express that I have the same feelings that these people in front of misery, injustice, rich people, etc... have a nice day yann |

Another thoughtful offering from you, dear Yann. You made me remember "Orfeo Negro", the last scene from atop the favelas ... greeting the sun. May the favelas become history ... Love, Margherita "Love is the One who masters all things; |
