Eyes burn; beg “sleep, sleep” Body aches; hip-shoulder-head-pain Restless discontent mind churns; can’t stop, racing thoughts tumble (torturous) Months of struggle, termination decisions decided, finally mental desire for capitulation conquered, completed actions morph (reaction) Deliberations over, battles won Some lost, price not yet paid in full, discontent lingers rattling a mind fatigued too soon to let go (hostage) Glass lifted, sardonic whisper here’s to the memories while restless discontent lingers naïve beliefs, colored to tarnished silver (game over) --- Alison |
