Inside these brick walls I've gone ever so mad The are pictures around me of the joy I once had It started so small Just a brick here or there but grew into a dungeon when I had an affair But so blinded was I from the reality of life that I put in a window and tossed out my wife Soon I raised the tower then dug a deep moat went & bought me a dragon that couldn't fly or float I kept the drawbridge up to keep minions away but if you were very wealthy you were welcome to stay I rented out rooms with beds & clawfoot tubs we had lots of maids to give you foot rubs I put in a gangplank talked of which witches to hang the celebrations were wild when the bell towers rang My headache grew chambers where I locked myself away It grew more into a castle with each passing day I then hired royalty and with them came knights one was doing the princess in the dark of the night When he got caught he thought he went to hell cause the rats ate his fingers when he was locked into a cell Now here in the great room townsfolk would bring me meat as I sat upon my gold throne the peasants washed my feet There's no doubt I'd gone mad as I'd rant and rave for hours dressed only in my underwear I'd pace the castle towers I hired on a doctor team to tell me what was wrong he did a full exam then broke out into song You're aren't the only one your mind is altered into few there is inside, and there is an outside and then there is you The kingdom was confused they never had an insane Pope but I figured I'd never be lonely but I'd better learn how to cope We needed a place to call our own where we would always get to stay So I created a bigger castle Where we could forever play As I built this tomb of insanity Hoping God would forgive my sins We prayed he'd understand our quarry and open the gates to let us in Now we live in the outskirts of heaven down the lane and on the edge we help settle in the new patrons teach them their final pledge Dear God In Heaven I've done the best I can Please accept me as I am I promise I'll try to understand To learn your rules to abide by your laws to forgive others trespass and understand their flaws As God is all forgiving and I follow in his shoes I hold the hand of a friend who shares the same views This story can go on forever It never needs to end with each line a new beginning like a poet needs a pen |

Lynn, you did it again with this one, I have printed it out to study in depth ( and in order to do it justice I hope) & will come back to add my tuppence (2p) or 4 cents worth...John |

This book has many chapters, But the story will never end. Because there's always something new, Just lying around the bend. ![]() ![]() EA |
